THEA FOTIU HOWELL: 1-919-218-0393
My work is alive with metaphors and symbols which I use to express both the dichotomy and analogous nature of my Greek and American cultures. Spirituality, nature, religion, ritual, ancestry, and death are the central and most dialogued elements of my work; I refer to these as "studies" for ideas that cannot be fully explained or articulated. I play with both the mundane and the extraordinary aspects of identity by coupling strange ideas and narratives and, through their over-use and juxtaposition, I invent new meaning.
